WORDS FROM THE EAST:

  Brethren,
The first quarter of 2017 has come to a close, and while time has passed at the same rate as all previous years, it seems time passes just a little faster each year. As Master for 2017, I want to say I am looking forward to what the rest of this year has in store. Although three months are behind us, we still have a lot of year left, and we have a lot of work to do. Before I get to the highlights of this quarter, If we all work together, we can make this year one of the best at Sam Poe. The degree work is off to a good start this year. In December of last year the lodge voted to donate $300 to the The Cancer Center of Greenville in the name of Prostate Cancer Awareness, and we were proud to hand over that donation in early January. The Cancer Center was very appreciative of our continued support. We also made a donation of cell phones and toiletries to the women’s shelter and The Greenville Sheriff’s Department to help support battered women and the homeless. A special thanks to the brothers of Sam Poe for supporting our community through these donations!
