74th Annual Rock Quarry Degree  Sept 19, 2014

Cooper Lodge will be holding their 74th Annual “Rock Quarry” Outdoor Degree on Sept. 19th. once again at Sycamore Point. Food will be served starting at around 5:30 pm and the Degree will follow, (hopefully around 7:00) with introductions of Grand Lodge Officers. The 18th District Square and Compass Club will be serving Grilled Hamburger plates at $5.00 each.

The second section of the Degree will be performed by Past Grand Masters of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina. This will certainly be a first for this outdoor degree in its 74 year history and should be an event not to be missed.
If you have not been to a “Quarry” meeting in some time we encourage you to come out to this beautiful site. It’s an ideal outdoor Degree site with ample parking. We are sure you will enjoy the fellowship with your Lodge Brothers and the numerous other Brothers from other Lodges.

*** Bring a folding chair and apron if possible with you.

Driving directions are as follows:
(1) From the north through Travelers Rest bear right on Hwy. 25 where it splits with Hwy 276 and go 2.7 miles.

WM Creighton Douglas, SW Buster Reid and JW Shane Owens attended the 276th annual communication of

The Grand Lodge of Ancient Freemasons of South Carolina. I can’t begin to tell you what a good time we had. Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. This was truly felt this week. For those that did not get to go you truly missed out. A lot was learned in the meetings. We went to the Bowery (The birthplace of the Country music group Alabama) with some Brethren we met from Greenwood to see Mac Arnold and a Plate Full of Blues, if you like the blues you will really like Mac. We just had to go tour Myrtle Manor and no we did not buy a t-shirt. We had good seafood and better fellowship this week. The Banquet was something to behold and the Prime Rib was great. The Elected Grand Lodge Officers are Grand Master MW David J. DeChant, Deputy Grand Master RW William B. Rogers, Grand SW RW William (Bill) Logan Grand Junior Warden RW Michael D. Smith (SGIG), Treasurer RW Jack A. Marler, Grand Secretary RW G Ray Marsh, Grand Chaplain Jerry L. Phillips. Our new District Deputy for the 18th District is WM O. B. Smith
